Navajo inventor and family to get 'Makeover' home
Yazzie and family will get a new home in a matter of days thanks to the work of about 800 volunteers. The Yazzies left Tuesday on a "vacation" and will return Tuesday to a new residence on the final day of taping by the ABC network. The program will air as the season premiere in August or September.

Good question. I don't know.
ReplyDeleteThe article didn't say if the family lived on tribal land. If they do, I would assume that they don't have to pay property taxes. At least that's the way it is on my Rez.

I think we're talking about income taxes. Winning a house seems equivalent to winning the lottery, for which you have to pay taxes.
ReplyDeleteYou know, you could be right. I don't watch the show that often and I thought Extreme Make Over was along the lines of a charity organization. They always seem to help poor and needy.
