Anti-meth ad campaign

Anti-meth drive aimed at Indian youth

Navajo ad executive tells about family’s struggles with alcoholAmerican Indian leaders unveiled the first anti-methamphetamine ad campaign targeted at natives on Wednesday.

The ads will start appearing in print and on radio in January.
A typical ad: In one radio ad, a young woman asks, "Who am I? Am I Indian? What if I go away to college? Then who am I? Sometimes it just seems so hard. And some kids try meth just to escape."

The ads end by urging youths to remember their families and traditions. They direct listeners to the Indian congress' Web site, www.ncai.org.
