Props. 94-97 win

Voters approve Indian gambling expansion California voters approved four Indian gambling expansion agreements Tuesday that will add up to 17,000 slot machines to the region, paving the way for some of the world's largest casinos in Southern California.

The ballot measures, known as Props. 94 through 97, prompted both sides to raise nearly $150 million through Monday. Much of that money bankrolled an intense battle on the airwaves, including platinum-priced TV ads during this week's Super Bowl.

"We think Californians heard our message--we know they saw it," Mark Macarro, chairman of the Pechanga Band of LuiseƱo Indians said in a packed Los Angeles hotel ballroom, "over and over and over."

  1. Russell Bates lied again so I deleted his comment again.

If you're curious, this lie was about the same as his other lies. Feel free to check 'em out.

What could writerfella have said in this blog space that would make the blogmaster eliminate that comment? Since it is gone, then it must have been particularly cogent, or it would have been left here for all of you to read. Even writerfella does not recall what was said, but it must have been striking! Now you know just how this arena exists. Know this: when you respond to what you have read, what you have to say might EVAPORATE...

  3. Your comment was a lie so I deleted it. Whether it was cogent or not is irrelevant since it was demonstrably untrue.

Follow the link to see the nature of Russell Bates's lies. Be sure to click on the "More results from bluecorncomics.com" link so you can see just how often the liar lies.

If that doesn't satisfy you, e-mail me and I'll send you the text. But I'm tired of wasting time explaining Russ's stupid lies to people who may not know any better.

  4. P.S. You're so addled you can't remember what you wrote but so egotistical you're sure it was "cogent"? Hysterical.

When describing you, it's tough to choose between inane and arrogant. Luckily, we don't have to choose.

Just in the past month, Rob, your response to a writerfella post stated that you cannot edit, change, or remove any of the postings made here. Now, by your own admission, WHO is the liar?

  6. Who's the liar? You are.

I said I can't edit comments but can delete them. I also said I don't delete them as a rule--that they remain attached to the postings in the archives.

The only exception, and it's a new one, is that I'm deleting any comments with demonstrable lies. Since I've proved these lies false before, I'll simply refer people to the past proofs.

FYI, people don't come to Newspaper Rock to read your lies and my rebuttals of same. These squabbles are cluttering the blog with irrelevant side issues.

Therefore, there won't be any more lies. Start your own blog and attack me there if that's all you have to offer.

Rob, listen for unexplained clicks during your phone conversations, then watch for strange autos parked in your neighborhood, and finally you'd best re-check your income tax returns for the past three years. Others will be doing so, to be sure...

  8. Are you demented or merely dumb? Why would law enforcement officials care about your lying in my blog?

I'm as worried about surveillance or a tax audit as I am about your proving me wrong about something. Which is to say, not at all.
