Yakama scorns Obama

Letter to Ed--Obama is not good for the Native American populationIt makes me sad that a Native American publication would support a man such as Obama. He will never do good for the Native American population or the rest of the U.S. population. He is self-serving and he has proven it over and over. This man wants to be president of the country whose flag he will not even salute as all Americans do. I’ve seen the photos of Obama turning his back on the American flag when everyone else was showing reverence for all that it stands for. I think this is just a small glimpse into what the man is truly about.

Here is another item of interest concerning Obama. As a Christian and Native American I have been keeping close tabs on Obama. He was raised as a Muslim by his stepfather. If you know anything about the Muslim faith, a person who is born into and practices the Muslim faith (ever) is a Muslim for life. If a person leaves the Muslim faith, they are murdered by the fanatic (Jihad) Muslims as an infidel. An infidel is anyone who does not belong to the Muslim faith. Had Obama become a Christian and left the Muslim faith as he proclaims, he would not be alive today. Every American who is not a Muslim would be targeted as infidels and murdered. With Obama as President, it would probably be legal to do so once he was made Chief of Staff.
Comment:  Wow. I can't decide if this Yakama woman is racist or simply ignorant. Any thoughts?

It is not being racist to say that, if Sen. Barack Obama becomes the Democratic nominee for President in the 2008 national elections, the majority of Americans in the 'dominant society' will elect the likely Republican candidate, John McCain. No ifs, ands, or buts. Thereafter, the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan will continue unabated and even become expanded, with Iran as the likely target for Gulf War III. You have been warned...

  2. Or maybe it is a Hillary campaign operative, like they plant to ask questions at town meetings or have to write very nasty anti-Obama emails.

I'd call it calculated. Not racist (since race is not involved), nor ignorant (I think the writer knows what he is doing).

This statement deserves so more comment:

"Every American who is not a Muslim would be targeted as infidels and murdered. With Obama as President, it would probably be legal to do so once he was made Chief of Staff."

Chief of Staff? Maybe he is ignorant and thinks that the Cabinet is where the President keeps his whiskey... if he thinks that "Chief of Staff" is a title for the President.

Anyway, don't you think a President who proposes a plan to kill 99% of Americans might meet some opposition from Congress, the courts, fellow Democrats, and more than a few letter writers?

  3. Your claim may not be racist, Russ, but it's also not demonstrably true. It's an opinion, not a fact.

Republicans are circulating rumors that Obama was and is a Muslim. Many people believe these rumors because they don't realize Republicans are liars. I suspect this Yakama woman (not man) is one of them.

Prejudice against Muslims is equivalent to prejudice against race because many Muslims are Arabs and people think Muslims = Arabs.

The woman obviously meant the Commander-in-Chief, not the Chief of Staff.

  5. Nehi: Yet, you wasted your time reading it.

I don't get people who read blogs and then complain that the blogger writes or posts too much. Or when a certain person writes long-winded comments and complains that the blogger is long-winded. Nobody forces anyone to read these things, do they?

  6. (forgot to mention: "Colonized drivel", especially when newsworthy or by major figures in the news, certainly fits in with the mission and other posts in this blog. Even if it is outrageous.)

Heretofore, writerfella acknowledged Obama's claim that the current Democratic candidate aspiree remained aloof of the Muslim teachings BOTH from his father AND his stepfather. We therefore are left with the ostensible conclusion that the man learned NOTHING from such influences. writerfella merely would like to be shown a picture of someone in modern America NOT learning anything at his parents' knees...

  8. Politically speaking, it wouldn't be wise for Obama to emphasize what he learned from his Muslim relatives. People would smear him with the charge that he himself is a Muslim.

Of course, there's nothing wrong with a Muslim running for office in America. But many people are prejudiced and wouldn't vote for a Muslim dogcatcher.

  9. Alas, Russ, your comments on the 2008 presidential election proved to be incredibly ignorant. For more on the subject, see Stupidest Indian Prediction Ever.
