Santa Fe film festival

Showcase Presents Creativity of Native Cinema After a day of shopping at the 2008 Santa Fe Indian Market, the organizers of the Eighth Annual Native Cinema Showcase are hoping folks will stop in and watch a side of American Indian creativity not represented on the plaza.

The annual film festival brings the best in Native cinema every year to Santa Fe for three days of films and talks with filmmakers on the cutting edge. The Indian Market specializes in the visual and sculptural arts, but not on photography or film.

Over the last seven years the festival has grown from a small, one-screen showcase to a large affair. This year, the CCA has partnered with the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian and the Southwestern Association for Indian Arts to make it bigger than ever, Silverman said.
