Tom Adkins
So today, I'm feeling a little "uppity," if you will. For more than a century, the millstone of white guilt hung around our necks, retribution for slave-owning predecessors. In the 1960s, American liberals began yanking that millstone while sticking a fork in the eye of black Americans, exacerbating the racial divide to extort a socialist solution to the country's problems. But if a black man can become president, exactly what significant barrier is left? The election of Barack Obama destroys the validation of liberal white guilt. The dragon is hereby slain.
So today, I'm feeling a little "uppity," if you will. From this day forward, my tolerance level for having my skin color hustled is exactly ZERO. No more Rev. Jeremiah Wright's "God Damn America," Al Sharpton's Church of Perpetual Victimization, or Jesse Jackson's rainbow racism. Cornel West? You're a fraud. All those "black studies" programs must now teach kids to thank Whitey. And I want that on the final.
Congressional Black Caucus? Irrelevant. U.S. Rep. Maxine Waters (D., Calif.)? Shut up. ACORN? Outlawed. Black Panthers? Go home and pet your kitty. Black separatists? Find another nation that offers better dreams. To those Eurosnots who forged careers hating America? I'm still waiting for the first black French president.
No more quotas. No more handouts. No more complaining that "the man" is keeping you down. "The man" is now black. It's time to toss that massive, obsolete race-hustle machine upon the heap of the other stupid '60s ideas. Drag it over there, right between free love and cop-killing. Careful, don't trip on streaking. Just dump it. And then wash your hands. It's filthy.

Racism lives in ObamAmerica
Why don't you join hands with your brothers in the Klan and sing "Kumbaya" in honor of Obama's ascendancy? Then tell the Klansmen they can go home because they lost the election, their cause is finished, and their hatred has become obsolete and irrelevant? Let us know how that goes, okay?
The mathematics of racism
The people in the links above were in the limelight for only a week or so (last week). Thirty percent of Americans are minorities, but these people have discriminated against the 1% of Americans who are Indians.
Let's do a rough calculation. Start with four incidents in one week for 1/30th of the minority population. That works out to 4 * 52 * 30 = 6,240 incidents per year for all minorities. And these are only the ones that have surfaced in the media or on the Internet. For every one of these 6,240 incidents, perhaps 10 or 100 or 1,000 go unreported and unmentioned.
In short, you don't know what the hell you're talking about, Tom. Until you've surveyed the field and found a complete absence of racist incidents, spare us your asinine assertions. Clearly you didn't think racism was a problem before the election and you still don't. To you, ignorance is bliss.

ReplyDeletePeople keep asking me how I feel about having at long last a black man for U.S. President; to which I tactfully explain to them that being Indian, there have been times in my life when even black people have discriminated against me - not nearly as many as white people, but a significant number none the less.
Some white people I meet even ask me if I have EVER been mistreated as an Indian, their rationale in this being that since there are not that many of us, we do not pose as much of a societal threat as do blacks and Hispanics, and thus we are less subject to racism as they know it.
For about two years now, if I am asked about how anti-Indian discrimination has affected my life, I simply take the time to inform my non-Indian friends about my experiences in Rapid City, South Dakota, a town that has to be the worst place in America to be an Indian in.

ReplyDeleteI don't see the Civil Rights acts and efforts against "Jim Crow" to be socialist. I would venture to guess that Adkins is against "Brown v Board of Education" too.
