This year’s activities celebrate the 130th anniversary of the landmark legal ruling in Standing Bear’s favor that declared Natives as “persons” under the law.
The Nebraska Commission on Indian Affairs and the Chief Standing Bear Planning Committee are hosting the events.
Nearly 500 guests, including government dignitaries and tribal leaders, are expected to attend the sold-out breakfast at 7:30 a.m. Friday at Embassy Suites.
