Native "Doodle 4 Google" finalist

Indian student named a finalist in 'Doodle 4 Google' contestJoe White Horse, an Indian student from Farmington High School in New Mexico, is a regional finalist in the Doodle 4 Google contest.

White Horse, an 18-year-old senior, lost his grandmother to breast cancer in 2006. His doodle for the competition represents his desire to find a cure for the disease.

"I look at cancer as an unstoppable black mass," White Horse told The Farmington Daily Times. "When cancer takes over, it takes the hearts of everyone around that person. If I could do anything, I would cure cancer."

White Horse is one of 40 regional finalists for the competition. If he wins, he will receive a $15,000 scholarship, computer equipment and a $25,000 grant for his school.
