‘Don’t Get Sick After June: American Indian Healthcare’By Vincent Schilling"Don’t Get Sick After June: American Indian Healthcare,” is the latest feature length documentary from Rich-Heape Films, producer of the multi-award-winning “Trail of Tears: Cherokee Legacy” and “Our Spirits Don’t Speak English,” that addresses and follows the history of the Indian health care system and the IHS from the 1800s to the welfare of Indian health care today as addressed by President Barack Obama’s Health Care Reform Act signed into law March 23.
The documentary, directed by Chip Richie and produced by Steven Heape describes how most federally run Indian health care facilities run out of money eight months into the fiscal year and generally have no funding for health problems after the month of June.Comment: For more on the subject, see
