Spencer to speak for NA Heritage Month

‘Twilight’ actor Chaske Spencer to speak Wednesday for Native American Heritage Month

By Maria LeoneChaske Spencer, known for his role as werewolf leader Sam Uley in “Twilight” will appear as part of Native American Heritage Month.

The Native American Community advocate and activist will speak at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in Plachta Auditorium. The event is free.

Spencer will talk about empowering people to reduce poverty and create sustainable communities, said Steve Lewis, president of Program Board and Allegan junior.

“He will explain how we as a community can put forth the effort to make change in our global society as well as in our local society,” said Colleen Green, director of Native American Programs.Comment:  People like Chaske Spencer and Q'orianka Kilcher are using their fame the right way: to help people.
