Illusionist wants to beat Houdini record

Here's your chance: On July 8, Navajo illusionist Myg Blade, 24, will attempt his most dangerous escape yet during a live show at Festival Park in Winslow, Ariz.

Blade, a Winslow resident, adds a new dimension to the local entertainment scene, which offers many musical acts and a growing cohort of comedians, but few if any practitioners of the magical arts.And:Another highlight of the upcoming performance will be the recreation of a famous Houdini trick, escaping from a straightjacket while suspended by his ankles from a crane. Blade plans to dedicate the show to Houdini, not only out of respect, but also because he hopes to best Houdini's escape time of two minutes and 36 seconds.
