Praise for "poverty porn" column

We get e-mail:Re your poverty porn essay. I assigned it to my freshmen Tribal Cultures students along with "Children of the Plains" with good results. Initially I was unsure about assigning "Children" because of its voyeuristic elements, so your essay did the critical intervention I needed.
