By Sheri EbertCanadian screen legend Gordon Tootoosis has taken a role close to home with Saskatoon's Persephone Theatre and the world premiere of the play Gordon Winter.
Starring in the title role is Tootoosis, who says he calls the Poundmaker First Nation home these days.And:
He was drawn to the character of Gordon Winter, partially because he too had been an Indian residential school student in his youth.
"I think the residential schools were like sculptures, sculpting characters,” Tootoosis told News Talk Radio in an interview in the theatre’s lounge overlooking the South Saskatchewan River on Tuesday.Comment: For more on the subject, see
