Callingbull protests Shell's Arctic drilling

Ashley Callingbull Joins Greenpeace Campaign Against Shell’s Planned Arctic DrillingAshley Callingbull, Enoch Cree, has joined an online effort by Greenpeace to call attention to the potential dangers of Shell’s plan to drill for oil in the Arctic.

The project is called Arctic Rising, and participants earn points based on creative contributions to the effort and their success in recruiting other concerned netizens to the cause through social media.

Friends of Callingbull, the Blackstone actress, model and recent competitor in the Miss World Canada pageant, recently received the following from her in an e-mail:Hello Everyone,

I am currently raising awareness for (Save The Arctic) for Greenpeace. The page is called Arctic Rising.

The pristine and beautiful Arctic: Shell wants to exploit it for oil. We want it protected.

This summer Shell wants to start drilling in the melting Arctic waters. We have to stop them.

Drilling in this fragile ecosystem—home to the polar bear, narwhal, Arctic fox and other iconic species—is unacceptable. A spill or accident in these
waters would be disastrous and the harsh conditions would make responding to such a disaster almost impossible.

Demand Shell stop their plans to put the fragile Arctic and its biodiversity at risk.
