Burns skipped Native soldiers

Latinos & Indians will join PBS' 'War'PBS will not alter Ken Burns' 15-hour World War II documentary "The War," which is finished and scheduled to premiere in September.

But Burns will add to it.

The historian will produce an additional chapter of the film that will examine the contributions of Latinos and Native Americans. The addendum to what many view as Burns' finest film comes in direct response to a campaign by Latino and Native American organizations who expressed anger at not being included in a heroic chapter of American history.

Writerfella here --
This particular controversy was unknown to writerfella, and so the article has even greater value for him. He surmises that it won't air as part of the main series but will be shown at a later time as a 'lost episode'. It is comparable to STAR TREK not including Natives as Starfleet characters in the first three seasons of the original series, reamining that way until writerfella changed it later. But, that is the way of the world...
