Melissa’s Predictions: Comic book fanatics either are still broke from seeing “300” or are saving up to see “Spiderman 3”. Things look grim for Ghost.

Pathfinder prediction
April Movie PreviewPathfinder: Another bare-chested, blood spattered historic epic based on a comic book, Pathfinder seems to be lacking some of the elements that made “300” a moderate hit. Starring Karl Urban, an action movie sidekick in all his previous roles, this film tells the story of a Viking who was stranded by his people during a raid and raised by a Native American tribe. When the Norsemen return, 25 years later, little Viking Eagle-Feather (actually called Ghost) is all grown up and ready for revenge. The acting, story, and film-making are all worse than “300”…even the washboard stomachs are less impressive.
Melissa’s Predictions: Comic book fanatics either are still broke from seeing “300” or are saving up to see “Spiderman 3”. Things look grim for Ghost.

I reported on Apocalypto's box-office receipts and Oscar chances when these subjects were in the news. I'll do the same for any Native-themed movie, including Pathfinder, regardless of its quality.
In case you didn't realize it, I try to cover every aspect of Native Americans in pop culture, whether it pleases me or not. My occasional posting of David Yeagley's views should be enough to tell you that.
When you wrote, "Perhaps when PATHFINDER achieves a box office figure of similar means, it also will be reported here as yet another 'moderate success'," you cast my reporting into doubt. I informed you (and everyone) that I report on the good and bad of every Native-themed movie.
Apocalypto is a prime example of that, so I noted it as such. Repeat: I'll report on any Native-themed movie's box-office receipts or Oscar chances whether I like it or not.
Therefore, there's no need to use your weasel word "perhaps." There's no doubt about it; I will report any significant news about Native-themed movies, including Pathfinder. Just as I did with Apocalypto.
As for your ridiculous charge of "deflection by diversion"...deflection from what? The Pathfinder prediction? There can only be deflection if you actually addressed the topic. Since you barely mentioned Pathfinder while trumpeting 300's success, there's no deflection.
In other words, you're the only one who's off-topic here. In case you forgot, the topic is Pathfinder, not 300. Next time try sticking to the topic at hand.
Pathfinder opens April 13, so look for more comments April 12. (As you may or may not know, critics often review a movie a day or two before it opens.)
