Comics are an integral part of Belgian culture. Hergé, the creator of Tintin, may be the country's most famous comic book author, but he's certainly not the only one.
Renaud Dillies, who was born in France but moved to Belgium as a child, won the ‘best first album' award with "Betty Blue"; a touching tale of a jazz musician duck's complicated love affair with both music and the "chick" of his life.
The other Belgian winner was Didier Chrispeels, who lives in Brussels and is better known as Crisse.
He won an award for comic books aimed at 9-12 year olds with "Luuna, Tome 2", the tale of a girl searching for her identity among Native American traditions.

Look up "BUNKY ECHOHAWK" on google there is a REAL NATIVE AMERICAN PWANEE POP CULTURE ARTIST PAINTER...he is kind of a big deal.
I've met Bunky and consider him a friend. He supports PEACE PARTY and Blue Corn Comics.
There are probably hundreds or thousands of Natives whom we could call pop-culture artists. I highlight them in this blog whenever I read about them.
