Action figures in Crazy Ind'n

As a bonus, I saw an innovative Native film before the Creative Spirit screening: Crazy Ind'n by Ian Skorodin.

What makes Crazy Ind'n innovative? Its technique is innovative: stop-motion photography using action figures from Wal-Mart. Its storyline is innovative: an Indian rebel sues to retrieve Geronimo's skull from Yale's Skull and Bones Society. When that fails, he digs up Prescott Bush's skull and arranges a trade with President George W. Bush.

Only the execution isn't innovative. There are too many shootouts between the US and rebel forces, not enough clever ideas once the basic plot is in motion. It could've been great, but it's pretty good.

These videos show you what the movie's about. They convey what I just said: that it's more about the action than the story. Memo to Skorodin: Call me for a rewrite.
