Trail of Tears documentary

East Coast Premiere of “Trail of Tears: Cherokee Legacy” at the NMAIRich-Heape Films will host the East coast premiere of its award-winning documentary Trail of Tears: Cherokee Legacy at Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian (NMAI) in Washington, D.C., July 1–July 8, 2007. The film explores America’s darkest period—President Andrew Jackson’s Indian Removal Act of 1830 and the forced removal of the Cherokee Nation to Oklahoma in 1838. Presented by Wes Studi and narrated by James Earle Jones, Trail of Tears: Cherokee Legacy has already captured an impressive array of awards, including:
