New comments policy

Recently Stephen people have posted way too many comments on things unrelated to this blog's purpose: documenting the intersection of Native America and pop culture. I've tried not to delete any irrelevant or idiotic comments, though I reserve the right to do so. But now I may start posting selected items with the comments turned off--items where I don't want or need anyone's opinions.

You still have options if you want to communicate about these items. For instance:

1) You can start your own blog or website and post your thoughts or questions there. As I've said many times, this blog doesn't exist for me to debate and disprove every wrongheaded idea out there. Use your own time and space to promote your beliefs, not mine.

You can link to my site and, if I deem your comments relevant, I'll link to yours. That way, you're free to continue your side of the conversation and I'm free to continue mine.

2) You can e-mail your thoughts or questions to me at robschmidt@compuserve.com. I'll review them and decide if they're worth posting. That way, we'll fill the comments sections with verbiage only if I consider it worthwhile.

Any questions? If so, see options 1) and 2) above. <g>
