Tsinhnahjinnie's photo collage

OU to host ‘Spirit Red’ exhibit

American Indian Art:  Strickland collection arguably nation’s most prominent"Spirit Red: Visions of Native American Artists from the Rennard Strickland Collection” opens Wednesday at the Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art, 555 Elm. The exhibit is being presented in conjunction with the annual Red Earth Native American Cultural Festival.Comment:  The thing to note in this article is the exceptional piece below. It's "Oklahoma—The Unedited Version," a black-and-white photo collage by Hulleah Tsinhnahjinnie. I love the message: the traditional woman trapped in the old TV set, perhaps looking at her lost land, then sallying forth in three dimensions, proving she's still alive, not just a static image on the screen.
