What's so blessed about Kateri?

Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha a Model for All AmericansKateri Tekawitha did little compared with the other great American religious women who would come after her. Her desire to start a religious community was refused. She built no buildings or churches save the one in the forest where she went to pray and escape from her own people's harsh treatment. This treatment eventually forced her to flee to another village some two hundred miles distant.

If she didn't do very much, why include her as someone who helped to shape the American Church? Even though Kateri was neither a mover nor a shaker, she nevertheless helped to shape our Catholic identity with her greatness in spirit. And we also need to be reminded that modern Native Americans are more than casino owners or sports mascots.
Comment:  After reading this article I have no idea what Kateri Tekawitha did to deserve canonization.
