"Trail of Tears" in Baby Blues
A correspondent sent me a comic strip published August 14:
I emailed the author, got the standard “sorry if I offended anyone” apology.

William Lowry, Lumbee Comment: If it isn't clear that this strip is in bad taste, substitute "Holocaust" for "Trail of Tears." Would Baby Blues compare living with obstreperous kids to enduring the Holocaust? Probably not. Then it shouldn't make a similar comparison to the Trail of Tears, even if children cry a lot.
