The book was also nominated for a mystery-focused Edgar Award.Comment:  You can bet that I'll be reading this book eventually.

Coincidentally, I just listened to Chabon's The Final Solution, a mystery involving an "old man" who's clearly Sherlock Holmes. It was good but not great (Rob's rating: 7.5 of 10). Of course, Chabon's Adventures of Kavalier and Clay was a masterpiece (Rob's rating: 9.0 of 10).

Unfortunately this book stinks. I'm not Tlingit but I know many who are and I live close to where this novel is set. Neither the alternate reality nor the depiction of Tlingit people are accurate/believable. Save your time and read something else, is my recommendation.
