Melvin Martin did a phone interview for APTN (Aboriginal Peoples Television Network) today. The subject was his bête noire: racism in Rapid City. He says the interview lasted 8:14 and he got in plugs for BlueCornComics.com and Newspaper Rock.
I believe APTN found Martin's essays on Indianz.com and solicited him from there. But I think Martin's recent bout of essay-writing started here. He gets more exposure on Indianz.com, but Newspaper Rock has helped him hone his arguments.
Anyway, I'm glad to have had a role in launching him as an authority on this important issue. As I've said before, I'm doing this blog to expose mainstream America to Native thoughts, beliefs, and values. That's why I quote Native writers and encourage submissions such as Martin's.
