Correspondent DMarks noted that Raoul Trujillo played Longshadow, a Native vampire, in the HBO series
True Blood. I haven't seen
True Blood, but I looked up Trujillo's resume to see what else he's done. Here's the scoop:
Raoul TrujilloRaoul Trujillo (born May 8, 1955 in Santa Fe, New Mexico) is a Native American (Apache/Ute) actor, dancer, and former soloist with the Nikolais Dance Theatre and the original choreographer and co-director for the American Indian Dance Theatre. He is the host for a series of dancing programs. Trujillo's career spans more than 25 years. He is perhaps best known for playing the villain in the Mel Gibson film Apocalypto. Some of his roles, especially the Native ones:
Tin Man as Raw (Cowardly Lion)Apocalypto as Zero WolfThe New World as TomocomoInto the West as (Red Cloud)Black Robe as KiotseatonClearcut as EugeneRaoul TrujilloEthnicity: Caucasian, Native American, Converso Jew/Moor, Latin/HispanicComment: Hmm. I think Native people accept Trujillo as one of them. I trust he's not one of these actors who chooses which ethnicity he is depending on what role he's up for.

when there is an "Indian" role to fill at least the can get work. I did see Graham Greene get a least one gig where he didn't have to be JUST an Indian. It was in the die hard movie with B Willis and S Jackson. Here's hoping Trujillo can be more than the mold. :-)
