Immigration joke on Tonight Show

I didn't hear it myself, but someone on Facebook reported that Jay Leno told this joke. It was presumably on Wednesday's Tonight Show (airdate: 5/19/10):John McCain of Arizona is facing a tough re-election campaign. The key issue is illegal immigration. I don't want to say McCain is old, but in his first election, the illegal immigrants were white people, okay.Comment:  Dozens of my Native contacts have made comments or jokes about whites being the first illegal immigrants. The point is obvious and not worth a lot of discussion here. But if Leno brought the point to mainstream America's attention, good.
