Indians like Obama

Indian Country Could Back Obama on Super Tuesday“Obama represents a break from the old—something fresh and new,” says Paul DeMain, managing editor of the Northern Wisconsin-based newspaper News from Indian Country. “Native people are looking at him as someone who can empathize with other people of color.”

DeMain has a hunch that those coming out in support of Obama are the young and the highly educated. The younger generation is trying to define itself in new political terms, he explains. “When I looked at who’s on his list, I saw lots of family names I recognized,” he says. For example, the daughter of LaDonna Harris, an outspoken Comanche leader who donated to New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson’s presidential campaign last year, is now involved with the Obama campaign, says DeMain.
Comment:  Too bad the other candidates aren't getting into the news regarding Indians. If they were, they could appear in this blog too.

Too bad, Obama is at the wrong place in history -- too young, too inexperienced, too early. Yes, a Black man WILL become President of these United States, but NOT until after 2012. However, given a continental shift in his campaign, he just might have a chance at election as VICE-PRESIDENT! One only has to examine the history of elections in the US of A to see it must be so. Plus, he must know that, given the Martin Luther King principle, there are forces at work which threaten his existence as they did and then removed MLK from among the living. He has but to consult the quatrains of Nostradamus to understand why...

Obama may win the nomination whether he's in the "wrong place" or not. The only thing stopping him is Hillary, who's popular because she reminds Democrats of the Clinton era.

But with her frequent pandering and "triangulating," she's as flawed a candidate as Obama is. Which is why he has a chance to win.

Obama has about the same chance of being elected President of these United States as you do, Rob. Hark! Is that the Secret Service that just drove up in your driveway?

Why...because you think Americans aren't ready to elect a black man? But they are ready to elect a white woman?

Your worthless opinion is yours, of course. But I'd say Obama's chances are better than anyone's except Hillary Clinton's.

Even you, by your 'faint praise' comments, admit that Hillary Clinton most likely will be the next President of these United States. Wow, talk about hedged bets!
