Kentucky's Indian license plate

Parent entry is new Native American plateA Princeton woman’s design has been selected to appear on a proposed new Kentucky license plate celebrating the state’s Native American culture.

Local artist Jannette Parent’s plate design was unveiled Monday in a ceremony at the Capitol rotunda in Frankfort.
And:Parent’s winning entry features colors of blue and brown depicting a Kentucky Native American looking out on the state’s rolling hills and mountains.

The plate slogan, “Native Americans share our grandparents’ stories with our children,” was contributed by Jen Spangler Williamson of Frankfort.
Comment:  I presume this is a specialty license plate and not Kentucky's main plate.

The design elements--the traditional Indian in profile, the feather, the reddish hue--are a bit stereotypical. As with the Oklahoma license plate, though, this is somewhat excusable. Again, you want a design that people can recognize easily from a moving car. That means subtlety is out and obviousness is in.
