Indigenous Image Awards

Indigenous award show debutsFrom the Grammys to the Oscars, a new awards show is here. The North American Indigenous Image Awards is the first awards show of its kind for Native American and Canadian Aboriginals. The first annual NAIIA will take place April 23 in Albuquerque and is hosted by Isleta Casino and Resort. Award categories include Film, Music, Publication/Magazine, Comedy, Model/Calendar and an Honor category. As of now, the NA Indigenous Image Awards is accepting submissions until Feb. 27 in all categories.

The show aims to honor outstanding and amazing talent from across North America. The show will feature and award artists from all genres of the entertainment industry such as film, television, news, music, radio, comedy, photography and fashion. The event will accommodate entertainment celebrities, young professionals, agencies, managers, actors, musicians, models, filmmakers, designers and fans. The awards show will include a red carpet introduction, VIP seating, live performances and celebrity presenters.
Comment:  This awards show may be the first one to honor publications and magazines, comedy, and models and calendars. But there are several to honor film and music.

I wouldn't call photography or fashion an "entertainment" field, either. Photography is a fine art a la painting or sculpture, while fashion is a creative business a la graphic design or interior decorating.
