Tribe to build baseball complex?

Tribe making pitch for D-Backs facility

Team wants to move spring-training camp to E. Valley from TucsonA spring-training complex for the Arizona Diamondbacks and Colorado Rockies could be built on the Salt River Indian Reservation east of Scottsdale under a proposal the tribe is developing.

With spring training fading in Tucson, the Diamondbacks are seeking proposals from six Valley entities that have expressed interest in building a baseball complex with a price tag that could exceed $100 million.

Those entities include the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community, Phoenix, Mesa and Casa Grande, and possibly other area Indian communities at Gila River and Fort McDowell.
