Casting Hamilton's new movies

Residents audition for role in American Indian movieThe Yazzies, including Ashleigh and Kailyn's father, Andrew, their aunts Alanna and Esther Lewis, and cousins Logan, 4, and Devon, who turns two in July, attended the open casting call for two films Hamilton plans to shoot this summer on the reservation surrounding the Four Corners.

"More than Fry Bread" is a comedy about the 22 American Indian tribes in Arizona competing in a fry bread contest. "Pete and Cleo" is a drama about two brothers who bond while cleaning out the family's hogan.
And:Hamilton, 31, decided he wanted to make films about American Indians after serving a two-year mission on the Navajo Nation for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

His first film, "Turquoise Rose," debuted in 2007 and Hamilton's second film "Blue Gap Boyz" was released in New Mexico and Arizona in November.
Comment:  I haven't seen either of Hamilton's films yet. But you have to admire his effort to make Native-themed films on Native land with Native actors and advisors.
