With your help, a Rapid City drum group could become the first Powwow Idols.
Standing Horse is one of two finalists in the competition sponsored by DrumHop Productions, a production company that specializes in powwow music.
Standing Horse and Wind Eagle Singers of Keshena, Wis., are the last ones standing out of 14 drum groups from throughout the country that entered the contest. The winners will receive a recording contract, along with the honor of being host drum at the 2008 Red Earth Festival powwow in Oklahoma in June. They'll also entertain on an upcoming "Powwow Cruise."
