American Girl Doll Day

Elkhart Co. Historical Museum to host American Girl Doll Day

By Katherine RufenerThe Elkhart County Historical Museum will be educating young girls about Native Americans and their local history during the upcoming workshop, American Girl Doll Day.

The program will use the popular American Girl doll brand to teach girls about how American Indians lived.

Kaya will be the featured doll at the event. She's a Nez Perce American Indian from 1764, who lives in the Pacific Northwest. Girls will have the opportunity to learn now American Indians like Kaya are different from Native Americans who lived in, what is now, Elkhart County.
Comment:  Other than the name Kaya, I don't know how authentic the doll is.
