Face magazine about First Nations

New magazine focuses on First Nations issues

Randy Fred, a long-time Nanaimo resident, recently launched a new magazine focusing on First Nations life, culture and issues.

A new magazine is putting a fresh face on aboriginal life and culture.

Face magazine’s premiere issue rolled off the presses in August and is the first high-gloss publication dealing with First Nations issues, art and culture to reach out to a national readership. The magazine has yet to find a national distributor, but the founder is hopeful its reach could extend beyond Canada’s borders.
Comment:  Face sounds like a nice contrast to Redskin magazine, which some Natives have found "appalling, offensive, and disgusting." I'm glad some people think you can sell Native issues without a titillating title or content.
